Once the editor becomes familiar, it is easy to stop looking at the toolbar. A few smaller tools can save you from copying text by hand or hunting through yesterday's tabs.
Revisit earlier edits with version history
Choose View Version History to inspect saved revisions. Read the preview before restoring: restoring changes the current note, rather than opening a separate permanent copy.
Copy the current text somewhere safe before a major restore. History is useful for recovering a paragraph, but you should still export important records. It is not unlimited archival storage.
Attach reference files
Use Attach Files when a document belongs with the note. A meeting agenda or a reference image can be easier to find beside the relevant text than in a separate folder.
The upload interface applies file-type, size, and count limits. Check its response after uploading; a rejected file is not attached merely because you selected it.
An export of note text does not automatically include every attachment. Download required files separately before working offline.
Choose the right export
The Export menu includes text, PDF, and HTML options.
- Text is useful for backups and editing elsewhere.
- PDF is useful for a fixed, readable copy.
- HTML can help when you need a file that opens in a browser.
Open the downloaded file once to check the result. The offline-copy guide explains why that small check matters.
Pin a note you revisit
Use Pin this note for a quick local reference, then View Pinned Notes to return to saved links.
Pins use browser storage. They do not automatically follow you to another device or survive every browser-data reset. For a broader system, maintain a note index.
Change a URL thoughtfully
Change URL can make a note's address easier to remember, if the new name is available. Update bookmarks and shared links after a change.
A readable URL does not make a note private. Use access settings appropriate to its content, and check the sharing guide before forwarding a link.
Use one tool at a time
You do not need to adopt every feature. Start with the tool that fixes a current annoyance: an export for a travel note, a pin for a recurring reference, or history for an edit you want to undo.
